My keyboard doesn't work...?

I'm sitting here typing with this stupid on screen keyboard because today when i turned on my computer it didn't type for whatever reason . i tried restarting my computer , tried unplugging my receiver tried installing intellitype. im on the microsft wireless keyboard. itsyncs with the receiver but, non of the lights on the reveiver light up if i press caps lock or whatever . ioh and ofcourse i replaced the batteries. any help would be swell =p
