How do i remove the speed limiter on my 95 cougar?

I have put 4.10s in the car and now 60 is my top speed because the computer thinks im going faster than i really am. im getting passed on the interstate. and i think the comp. uses the speed sensor to shift the trans or i would just un hook the speed sensor.
