Why wont my car run correctly?

i have a 96 eagle talon tsi awd, it has the 4g63 motor,,,, the car runs fine when starting it and also at idle, but when you rev the engine it cuts out like it has a rev limiter, and spits out black smoke, if i slowly step it down, it will still cut out but not as bad, this is happening when reved up to around 5000, it would make sence to me that a rev limiter would make this happen just revving it, but it also will happen on the road when driving and try kicking it down,,, i have replaced the plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, mass air flow sensor,,, and now i dont know where to go from here,,, anyone have any thoughts?
